Did this race last year with mom, but they modified the course a little this year and I think it was closer to being an actual 5k. Started out with more road running before we hit the trail (which was good because there were a lot more people) but a lot of the trail portion was similar to what I remembered. Dad had been training too so Mom and Dad both came down and ran. We pretty much just stayed together for a little over 2 miles then MC and I went ahead a little then I made my self charge up the horrid, mean, 0.1 mile hill to the finish. Overall a really pretty run and fun to have the parents join. Especially since it was Dad's first 5k race ever!
